Moses’ strong leadership preserves the people from the consequences of Aaron’s poor leadership (with the Golden Calf).

You need “tough” men like Moses (and Jesus) to lead you into the Promised Land. Men like Aaron may be “nice”, but they don’t really lead you any which way but loose. If God’s people are left to lead themselves, they will spin in sin until they are struck down. You Need Strong Leaders.
