Show Respect and be Respected

The second giving of the 5th Commandment gives extra positive reasons to honor authority. God’s people will show respect to one another in their respective societal roles in family, church, and state, and in return, God will reward such respectful children and citizens. You always owe honor to those whom God puts over you in family, church, and state. You must always seek to honor those whom God puts under you in family, church, and state. You must also remember to respect your equals as yourself in family, church, and state.
God gives you a special reason to respect everyone else: it shows and gets respect for yourself. Show Respect and be Respected.
