The Devil’s Deceitful Darts
Grant Van Leuven
We continue our casual study of Thomas Watson’s writings of the Sixth Petition of the Lord’s Prayer (“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil”) in his book, The Lord’s Prayer. Tonight we learn that the Devil is a deceiver (the meaning of the Greek word for “tempt” is to deceive), and he does so with sudden arrows that are yet equally subtle and thus so effective. Therefore we are in great danger and in much need of praying this petition regularly!
