Come Out of Babylon

In Revelation 18, we get a zoom lens view on who Babylon is and that she is fallen because she is falling. We learn that those who put all their stock in her worldly system bemoan her collapsed market (poetic justice to Rev. 13:16-17). We also see the rejoicing of the saints who she persecuted and martyred (for not trusting in her, but instead trusting in Jesus Christ). Seeing how woeful Babylon truly is now and at the end of her present falling on the Last Day of judgement, our powerful God Who judges Babylon calls us to come out of her so that her plagues do not fall upon us now or in the end for foolish proximity to her by succumbing to her seductions. God’s means of grace are used for the perseverance of the saints, and they include a daily call to come out of the world (2 Cor. 6:14-17).
