Delivered from Our Evil Heart
Grant Van Leuven
This evening we continued our study of the section of the Puritan Thomas Watson’s book, The Lord’s Prayer, with the second part of the sixth petition, “But Deliver Us From Evil,” with the first of three special senses of that prayer (earlier the general sense studied was to be delivered from the evil of sin itself): to pray to be delivered from the evil of our own heart, which is “… the Trojan horse, out of which comes a whole army of lusts.”
