Don’t Strangle Life with Worry
Grant Van Leuven
Topical sermon based on the Westminster Larger Catechism question and answer 136, ‘What are the sins forbidden in the sixth commandment (part 4)?’
In Matthew 6:31-34, Jesus commands not worrying like the world by prioritizing time with your heavenly Father. Worry robs you of your time with God and chokes the life out of you (and anyone whose throat you grab in the process). Don’t strangle people with your hands, nor with your tongue. Don’t let your heart get wound up in sinful thoughts that spring you out of control. Don’t strangle life with worry.
