God renews His covenant relations with His people out of pure, sovereign grace and mercy.

God is a gracious and merciful covenant keeper to you His Church. Because God keeps His covenant, He maintains your relationship with Him. God Himself protects you from Himself so that you can live with Him. God gives you His special manifestation of gracious mercy in Jesus Christ. The LORD is gracious; our God is merciful.
