Studying El Shaddai for a second time where it first appears in Genesis 17:1 in connection with the Abrahamic promise to bless him with many children to bless the world, we focus on the root “Shad” as “breast” in the Hebrew and the nurturing, nourishing power of God to His children. Because God’s people need spiritual nourishment He suckles them as His little children.
