We close the book of Numbers with its last chapter with an interesting focus again on the daughters of Zelophehad as an inclusio bookend with chapter 27. What happens if they marry after getting their father’s inheritance but to a husband of another tribe?: would their father’s portion and legacy not be lost forever!? Moses again gives a case law to preserve the perpetuity of each tribe and family’s claim to the Promised Land. So Christ has done for each one of us waiting to inherit our room in His Father’s house.
