Preserve and Save Lives
Grant Van Leuven
Topical sermon based on the Westminster Larger Catechism questions and answers 134 and 135 (part 1), ‘Which is the sixth commandment?’ and ‘What are the duties required in the sixth commandment (part 1)?’
In Ephesians 5:28-29, Paul teaches that husbands must care for their wives as they do their own lives and as Christ does His own Body life. The implication is that all human life is precious and to be protected. To not murder is more than omission. It is preservation. Preserving lives involves careful study of God’s Word and works. Preserving lives puts what you learn into action. You must care for all human life. Preserve and save lives.
