Remember Armageddon
Grant Van Leuven
As the fifth heptad (group of sevens) ends with the last (7th) of the last plagues poured out in the seventh vial of wrath, this one goes into the air to attack the prince of he air (Eph. 2:2) that is behind all the battles on earth. This battle, Armageddon, is shown to be a symbol of God delivering His people from being besieged by the enemy, such as in the most direct OT allusion, Judges 4-5. As Richard Bacon summarizes: “Armageddon means one thing: God’s sucking in His enemies to destroy them [vss. 12-14].” This battle is already begun and is nearing its climax.
