Topical sermon based on the Westminster Larger Catechism question and answer 172, “May one who doubteth of his being in Christ, or of his due preparation, come to the Lord’s supper?”

Matthew 26:28 teaches that the Lord’s Supper is a reminder of His having sent away our sins.

The Lord’s Supper is to assure you who doubt that your sins have been sent away. Just because you doubt yourself and preparation does not mean that you are not prepared. The main issue is to be sure you are not going through the motions without affection. Just be sure to have truly examined yourself. Having truly examined yourself, come eat and drink to feed your faith on Christ. Sit Down at the Supper and Send Your Sins Away.
