The Lord is Loyal to Us
Grant Van Leuven
On this New Year’s Day (where the calendar falls on this Lord’s Day) we choose not so much to look ahead with what we might do, but to use it as an opportunity to look back on what God has continued to do for us (as the only reason we’re still here doing anything).
The Psalmist (in Psalm 124, which is our annual Psalm of the month to sing for January) says that if not for the Lord, the Church would perish; but because He is faithful she perseveres.
We’re all in this together as the Lord’s people. We’re all facing tribulation together as the Lord’s people. We’re not in this together alone: the Lord is with us. The Lord is Loyal to Us.
