God reminds the rebellious church that His ministers serving their redeemed lives are very valuable. Paul uses vss. 21 and 31 of this chapter in Numbers by allusion in 1 Corinthians 9:13-14 to demonstrate the same expectation for tithing to support full-time ministry of the NT Church as an ongoing typical practice (and not an expired theocratic type). Ephesians 4’s quoting of Psalm 68:18 is also very relevant and addressed.
