Christmas
Sermons on the occasion when December 25 fell on the Lord’s Day to address why we do not follow the liturgical calendar.
As our Westminster Directory for the Publick Worship of God states in its appendix, “Touching Days and Places for Publick Worship. Festival days, vulgarly called Holy-days, having no warrant in the word of God, are not to be continued.”
